K5 Autopilot
Automatic Adjustment on K500 Series Hydroheaters
The K5 Autopilot upgrades the performance of the Jetcooker so that product flow path and shear are automatically maintained at optimum conditions. This is done by controlling pressure drop to a given set point, compensating for variations in the process (material changes, flow rate and temperature). To adjust the flow path a pneumatic motor, with integral gear reducer, rotates the drive shaft of the combining tube adjustment assembly. As the combining tube/nozzle gap closes, differential pressure increases.

K5 Autopilot System Components
The K5 Autopilot upgrade is compatible with K511 through K515 Hydroheaters and includes all components needed for installation and stand-alone operation of the system.
» Control panel with PLC programmed with the logic for open/close commands, protection and alarms needed to maintain
the set-point differential pressure
» Pneumatic air set to provide control air for the drive to open/close the combining tube
» CTA Assembly with interface for the gear drive and air motor to the combining tube
» Position Sensor for feedback sensing
» Gear reducer and Air motor: supplying the force to open/close the combining tube
» Interconnecting cables for the air set and position sensor to the control panel
K5 Autopilot Lite
The K5 Autopilot Lite includes the components needed for installation and operation when controlled through the users DCS.
» Pneumatic air set to provide control air for the drive to open/close the combining tube
» CTA Assembly with interface for the gear drive and air motor to the combining tube
» Position sensor for feedback sensing
» Gear reducer and air motor supplying the force to open/close the combining tube
» Interconnecting cables for the air set and position sensor to the control panel
The Control panel (supplied as part of the complete K5 Autopilot system) is not provided. Control logic is provided through the plant PLC.
